Authors retain ownership of the copyright on their work and guarantee the publication of the same under the terms of a Creative Commons License (CC). The standard license level attributed is the ‘CC-BY 4.0 Attribution’, which allows others to share the work, provided that: they report in full form the reference to the original digital version; provide a link to the license assigned; and indicate if any changes have been made.

ECF proposes the stipulation of a publication contract for each journal article, each miscellaneous chapter and each monograph. Here, authors can individually decide to give their contribution a more restrictive Creative Commons license level.

Authors remain free to sign additional and separate contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the work in the version published by the journals or series, subject to compliance with the provisions of the previous point.

Edizioni Ca’ Foscari is present in Sherpa Romeo as an editor of both journals and series. This means that the policies ascertained by Sherpa Romeo must be considered valid both for journal articles and for contributions in edited and monographic volumes.
