Copyright and Licensing Policy	Upon acceptance of a proposal, the University Press will provide a ‘licence to publish’. This licence will give the Press the right to first publication, however, copyright will remain with the author(s). All books will be licenced using a Creative Commons licence, with the preferred licence being the Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY). Publication Charge Policy	We do not charge APCs for journal articles. For books: As an open access publisher, the Press needs to recover publishing costs. Typically these costs will be around £4,500 for works of up to 70,000 words, although these costs will differ according to word count, number of pages and number of images included. Author costs can be covered by funders, such as the Heritage Lottery Fund and Leverhulme Trust. They can also be covered by School research budgets and central University funds if the publication is felt to be a benefit to the local community.

Peer Review Policy	Standard for articles: The University of Huddersfield Press follows the double-blind review process to further provide fairness to the review process; this means that neither the identity of authors will be disclosed to the reviewers nor the authors know the identity of reviewers. Reviewers are selected by the editor of an issue, which may include members of the editorial board, or may include other individuals with the necessary knowledge to accurately review the article.
Initiatives	The University of Huddersfield Press was established in 2007 and has grown to become an open access publisher of high quality research. Our authors and editorial boards bring international research expertise and a strong orientation to practice and real-world application to their publications. The Press is keen to support emerging researchers and foster research communities by providing a platform for developing academic areas. We align our activities with the key tenets and identified strategic priorities of the  University of Huddersfield Research Strategy . By publishing innovative research as open access we aim to improve access to scholarly work for the benefit of all.
